How does Holnix's scalable publisher pricing work?
Holnix offers a pricing model based on the number of active ISBNs you manage on the platform. The larger your catalog, the higher the plan — always matched to your real volume. This way you only pay for what you need, with the ability to scale as your catalog grows.
Can I upgrade my plan if my catalog grows?
Yes. If your catalog grows, you can move up to a higher plan at any time, with no service interruption. If you have an annual or 2-year discount, it stays applied to your new plan.
To downgrade, you’ll need to wait until your contract renewal if you’re on an annual or 2-year commitment. On monthly contracts, you can downgrade at any time.
Are there any additional costs beyond the monthly plan?
Your plan price covers all metadata management and synchronization with no hidden fees. The only possible additional charge is for excess ISBNs: if you go over your plan’s limit, we only bill the additional ISBNs at your plan’s rate — no surprises.
We send you an automatic notice when you reach 90% of your limit, so you can decide whether to keep your current plan with overage billing or move up to the next tier.
In the future we may add optional advanced features (such as performance metrics or additional tools), which will be available as add-ons — making sure you only pay for the services you actually need.
What happens if I manage fewer titles than my plan allows?
Nothing changes: you pay your contracted plan price regardless of how many active ISBNs you have below the limit. If your catalog shrinks consistently, you can move down to a lower plan at your next contract renewal.
What happens if my catalog grows temporarily?
You don’t need to switch plans for short-term spikes. We simply bill the excess ISBNs at your plan’s rate during the months when the overage occurs. If the growth becomes sustained, we’ll recommend moving up to a higher plan so you can benefit from a better per-ISBN rate.
How are active ISBNs counted?
Each month we calculate the highest number of active ISBNs you’ve had on the platform during that month. If that peak exceeds your plan’s limit, the excess ISBNs are billed at your plan’s rate on the following invoice. Archived or deleted ISBNs are not counted.
What's the difference between monthly, annual, and 2-year contracts?
Monthly contracts give you maximum flexibility: you can cancel or change plans at any time, at the standard rate.
Annual (12-month) and 2-year (24-month) contracts unlock discounts of up to 22% and 35% respectively. Billing remains monthly, with no upfront payments. During the commitment period you can move up to a higher plan at any time, keeping your discount applied.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards, as well as other secure online payment options. For annual and 2-year contracts, we also offer ACH bank transfer on request, while keeping monthly billing.
What happens at the end of my contract?
Your contract automatically renews for the same term under the agreed conditions. If you’d like to modify your plan, change your contract type, or cancel, you can notify us up to 30 days before the end of your contract.
Can I try Holnix before signing up?
Absolutely. If you’d like to get to know Holnix before committing, get in touch to schedule a personalized demo with our team. We’ll show you how it adapts to your catalog and answer all your questions before you choose a plan.
What if my publishing house doesn't use ONIX?
If your publishing house doesn’t currently use the ONIX format for metadata management, no problem. At Holnix we offer an ONIX file creation system to help you build and maintain your catalog in ONIX.
Our team can advise you on implementing the ONIX standard, develop the necessary technology, and make sure your catalog is ready for efficient distribution through Holnix. That way, your publishing house will be fully equipped to manage and synchronize its metadata professionally and in line with international standards.
